The New Year...

Okay, I just realized I only posted 7 times all last year. Yikes. I'm horrible at this blogging thing, who's idea was this? Well I have some pretty big goals I've set for 2011 so that will hopefully give me more to write about.

Goal #1: Run 600 miles
While this seems crazy I thinks its totally do-able. If I run 10 miles a week, that already puts me at 520 miles. I also plan on running at least two half marathons during the year (a plan within a plan) after my half and full in January (which will total 39.3). So I'm excited!

Goal #2: READ!
This may seem silly, but I'm intrigued. I found a book mark at Books A Million that has the 50 books to read before you die. This may take me several years to accomplish. I haven't decided if I should reread the ones that I have already read or not. It would definitely make it easier on me. And I'm a little concerned about others, like The Bible. I've tried reading the bible and its really hard. I'm wondering if I could cheat and get an easier readable version. There are also several "books" that are actually series, therefore being more than 50 books. Yikes, what have I gotten myself into...
Here's the list:
1. The Lord of the RIngs Trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien

Goal #3: Family
I want to spend more time with my family. This year has been great for me and Elijah, especially compared to 2009 when I was on night shift all year. We got a lot of time together while Joe was in Kansas City helping his Mom out. But he is getting to the age where he is going to want to spend time with his friends instead of us and I really want to take advantage of this time when he still thinks we're cool to hang out with. As for me and Joe, I want to date more! I want to go out once a month on a real date with my husband. This is something we rarely do. I would also like to try at least one weekend away together, I don't care where, or when. I just want it!

Goal #4: Post More
I will try and get on here at least once a month hopefully more and let everybody know about my progress. And of course putting up pictures!

Thats all I have for now. I hopefully won't come up with anymore crazy goals for 2011. What goals are you guys setting?

Watch out! I think I can hold you accountable. Running, Reading and we are both married to a Joe! Haha!

I love your new look, and admire your goals! As a Christian, I can't compare reading the Bible with the other books--that one needs to be studied as an example to follow, not just read for edification. When you get ready to read the Bible, it's really easy to find a program to read a bit of the Old Testament, then a piece of the new, and a Psalm and/or Proverb every day. You could get into the habit of daily Bible study! Looking forward to seeing you in 2 days!! Mom

I agree Mom, I would much rather study the Bible than just read it. I found it strange that it was even on this list, because its not really comparable. Can't wait to see you!
