Both of my siblings sent Elijah a gift card to Toys-R-Us. The closest one to us is three hours away in Dallas, but fortunately, Joe was in Dallas this week for work. So he was able to stop and get him something while he was there. Here are a couple of shots from tonight with his Navy Seal Boat. He loves it!
Grandma was able to come and visit him for about a week. She took us all out to Red Lobster because Elijah HAD to try lobster. He already has expensive taste, yikes! I forgot to bring the camera with us, but we all had a great time. The servers came over and sang him Happy Birthday and everything. When we got home from dinner it seemed like everyone that has every met wanted to call and wish him a Happy Birthday. He was exhausted by the end of the night. Here's a shot of him talking to his Auntie M on skype.
All in all I think he had a great birthday. The entire time he was five he promised to start trying more things when he turned six. Like food or things that scare him. He really has kept up with that bargain, from lobsters to avacadoes, he is more than willing to try new things. I'm so excited for him. He has his first loose tooth too. I think its ready to come out, but he's pretty terrified. I will do my very best to document this ever changing situation. Love you all!

You know, when we bought the Toys R Us card I wondered if that would be a problem.
BUT, you can sell them on ebay. I know it sounds weird, but we sold a 50 dollar Outback card someone gave us for like, 46 bucks. So while we lost 5 bucks out of it, at least we didn't have to spend it at a restaurant we don't like.
Glad he had such a good time!
I didn't know about the TOYS R US problem. Sorry. I'm glad he had a wipe-out birthday. They're the best kind. And a loose tooth already! I'm not looking forward to those days....
EXCUUUUUUSE me--a NAVY SEAL boat???!!! Didn't y'all read Tony's comment about his Green Beret-wearing Ranger Dad and his fear of crossing him??!! Not much better way than buying his grandson a NAVY SEAL boat, JOE!!! Oh, well, I guess we'll have to send him a Green Beret, eh? Sigh.
Seriously, it looks like y'all had a great birthday for Elijah--I'm sure sorry we missed it! Give him a hug for us!
Love to all,
Grams
we're all on the same team mom, jeez.
